On the General tab, change the title "Container" to the desired titleĪdditional InformationThe above steps can be reviewed in the attached workbook Cell Background Color.twbx.
In the Edit Axis dialog for the top axis, do the following and click OK:.
For each top header, right-click the header and then select Edit Axis.
On the Tick Marks tab, select None for Major tick marks.
In this example, I chose the blue from her. Hover your mouse over your footage to find a color you want to use, then click. Youll see the eyedropper icon on the right-hand panel under the words Background Color. Try using the eyedropper tool to make your background match part of your footage.
On the General tab, delete the title "Container" You can also set a solid color as your background.
In the Edit Axis dialog for the bottom axis, do the following and click OK:.
For each bottom header, right-click the header "Container" and select Edit Axis.
(Optional) decrease the width of the columns if necessary so that the color completely fills the columns.
Create a calculated field with a name like "Blank" with a calculation similar to the following:.
Click Size and adjust the slider all the way to the right.
Drag the calculated field used to determine the color of the rows to Color.
If there are more than 6 copies of, then at the bottom of the marks card, click "More Fields" and select "All".
If there are 6 or fewer copies of on the Columns shelf, then click on the marks card labeled "All" to select it.
Repeat steps 4-7 for every measure on the Measures Values card in the original worksheet.
Repeat steps 2-7 for any dimensions on the Rows shelf in the original worksheet.
Right-click the second copy of SUM(Container) on the Columns shelf and select Dual Axis.
Now the first column in the view contains city names and the second column is still blank.
For the marks card for SUM(Container), drag onto Label.
This will automatically open the marks card for this copy of SUM(Container)
Click on the first copy of SUM(Container) on the Columns shelf.
This step is necessary because if only one copy of is used to create each column, then the headers will be on the bottom of the view. Note: Tableau Desktop will show one marks card for each copy of container called: Sum(Container) and Sum(Container) (2). We usually program colors in a computer by specifying their RGB values, which set the intensity of the red, green, and blue channels in a display.
Drag two copies of onto the Columns shelf Because of the way our eyes work, a particular color can be defined using three components.
Right-click on the Rows shelf and uncheck Show Header.
The original view had two dimensions on the Rows shelf, and two measures, so we will need to create 4 columns in this view. After all of the columns are built, we will format all the columns at once. These directions will build the view one column at a time. In this example, the calculated field is named Container.
In the Calculated Field dialog box, do the following, and then click OK:.
